Frequently Asked Questions

For parents & students:

How effective is the Tutelage Approach?

100% of our students improve if they follow our method and learning advice closely. However, the extent of the improvement depends on parental support, student’s adherence to our method and learning advice.

Do you accept students with poor grades?

We believe intelligence is malleable and can be developed — every child has a fighting chance. Our Tutelage Method provides a systematic approach to support students’ learning regardless of their starting points.

Can you help my child who is unmotivated to learn?

In the result-oriented environment, students may avoid failure by presenting a facade of a lack of motivation. Nurturing a growth mindset in children leads them to desire learning and encourages them to embrace challenges, persist in the face of setbacks, see effort as the road to success, learn from criticism and find inspiration in the success of others.

Is there a trial class available?

Yes, we offer trial classes that allow your child to experience what our lessons are like. You can arrange for a lesson in the level and subject of your choice, and find out how we can elevate your child’s learning journey. Trial classes are chargeable at the lesson fee for 1 regular lesson for the relevant level and subject.

What is your enrolment procedure?

Please contact us by submitting a form here. We will contact you within 3 working days to discuss your child’s needs and find a suitable class for your child.

You can also call 8533 0438 to book a complimentary assessment and consultation if you like to find out more about our classes.

How do I know if the pace of the class is suitable for my child?

We have a free diagnostic assessment before we give advice on which class is suitable for your child. For instance, a student who failed S3 A’math at the end of the year will need to attend double class to relearn the concepts in the S3 class as well as pick up new concepts in the S4 class. On the other hand, a prolific young writer may be advised to advance to a level higher than his same-age peers in the Creative Writing class to enjoy a more challenging learning environment.

How early should I enrol my child for lessons?

It varies with each individual as all parents and students have different academic concerns. You may like to make an appointment for an obligatory-free consultation to find out what we can do for you and your child.

How long will my child need tutoring?

All children progress at different rates. We have basic benchmarks that we use to give an estimation. Specific goal setting will be ideal to give a good estimate on how long your child requires tutoring and it can be discussed with the centre manager or teacher in charge. The best method is, without a doubt, consistent and quality tuition.

Will homework be administered to my child?

Homework is an integral part of our programme. It gives the child the opportunity to consolidate and practise what they have learnt during their lesson. We pride ourselves on never giving students homework that has not been covered by the teacher during lessons or tasks that are too difficult to complete independently.

Is there a make up class for any missed lesson?

We provide webcast sessions for students to catch up on missed lessons. Webcast sessions are recordings of the actual lesson that the student has missed so that he or she will not be lost when they return to class the next lesson. The webcast sessions need to be attended in person as we will need the child to be invigilated for weekly quizzes and homework needs to be collected after the session.

In the case of one-to-one lessons, the missed lesson will be rescheduled based on the tutor’s availability. The student is allowed up to one replacement lesson per month.

Is there any discount if I introduce or recommend a friend?

Existing students or parents who introduce a student will get $40 Tutelage voucher or $40 Popular voucher. For alumni students or parents, they will get a referral of $50 for each recommended student who signs up.

Is there bundle discount for siblings?

Yes there is. We know how costly it is to raise children in Singapore. Siblings get to enjoy $10 off each subject they enrol with Tutelage.

What are the modes of payment accepted?

1) Cash
2) Nets
3) Cheque (addressed to Tutelage Centre Pte Ltd)
